Must Be Working
I am doing well on my three guidelines. I have been off of refined sugar for two days. I am also back off of Diet Coke and Starbucks. The intense caffeine headache proves that my body just can't deal with this stuff. I forget how terrible I feel for about two weeks getting off of the toxic junk that ruled my world. I feel down, anxious and restless. Exactly like a junkie off the junk! Must be working!

But once you get through the detox it will get easier...
I too get major withdrawals when I take something off my eating list. Like I'm still going through withdrawals for regular wheat bread like hamburger buns and fluffy pancakes, even though I've found substitutes, and it's been more than a week since I made the gluten-free changeover.
I'm thinking a lot of it is in our minds, but absolutely, it's in our bods too.
Now... is there a detox method for chocolate? Vee at www.veegettinghealthy.blogspot.com
hi joy!
i cut out caffeine, recently, too! i feel so much better and after the first several days of feeling withdrawal, i actually have more energy than i did when i was "on" caffeine. it's amazing.
i REALLY miss the experience of drinking coffee, though. nothing beats it. but i have never felt better.
interested to know how it goes for you...i am going to stay of it for at least one month....
Way to go!!! Hang in there, those first couple of weeks are sure a pain, though, aren't they. And caffeine + sugar? Double-whammy, but I guess if you're going to be feeling crummy, better to get it done in one fell swoop.
Oft. That caffeine headache is exactly why I am so hesitant to kick the habit myself. I'm down to one cup of coffee a day, but I really don't want to give that up!
Well done of giving up diet cola. It's the one thing I can't bring myself to give up. I feel like I've given up so much in the past 2.5 years that it is my one indulgence most days. Good luck with your rules and in particular with being able to fly without an extender belt. I used to hate that and it is one of the great things about losing weight.
Congrats on getting off the sugar.
But no way could I give up my coffee. I need it way too much.
